They Say The Classics Never Go Out of Style, But…

Given the title of this website, I guess I should write something about shoes at some point. So, ahem. New pair of shoes day!

I’m so gross. Vans Authentics. Probably the simplest and most stylish pair of shoes Vans has ever made (and also probably the worst for your feet – both skateboard wise and walkin’ around town wise) The difference between the Authentics and their sister shoe, the ERA are subtle, but definitely noticeable to the wearer, and the Authentics are definitely superior. They go well with any outfit (FYI – Authentics should really be considered as a better, more unique alternative to Chuck Taylor’s if you choose that whole ‘Tuxuedo with Sneakers’ wedding party attire cliche)

I’ve blown through about 15 pairs of them in my lifetime (more so back when I actually used to skateboard daily) Their relative cheapness makes me 100% OK with the fact that they don’t hold up well against grip tape. They obviously don’t hold up well in the snow either…An uncomfortable lesson learned on a long walk home from the bar during a freak snowstorm in 2006 with wet and frozen feet. But whatever.

And why yes, I clearly enjoy wasting everyone’s time with poor quality pictures of my feet.
